Lexus LFA- entered in to Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race.

lfa-race
We have previously mentioned that Lexus will be putting the LFA in to production, and now we have more confirmation from the boys at Lexus about the production of the sports car. It is being entered into the Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race on 23-24 May, 2009, with two prototypes.
lfa-race2
Apparently the reason for this entrant is to further test the LFA with real time data and Lexus will be using data from the race for their mass production of vehicles. The car will be powered by a 5.0-litre, V10 that produces over 500PS but they seem to be trying to keep it as close to the market version as possible.

The only modifications to the car will largely be safety features such as roll cages and fuel tanks, along with aerodynamic touch ups including a spoiler. As far as the engine and the cars internal dynamics, everything will remain the same apart from the setup being fine tuned for race conditions.

When the LFA does rolling of the production line, just remember that it was same one used in this prestigious event. Thus watch out for GAZOO racing as they will be the team racing the two prototype LFAs.

Lexus LFA supercar to go into production!

lexus-lfa
The Lexus-LFA was a concept car revealed at the 2007 Detroit motor show, and at the time Toyota was just gathering customer interest. Well you’ll be glad to hear that interest has been so good that Toyota will be putting the LFA into production reports AutoExpress.

lexus-lfa-back

Originally the LFA was introduced as a 500bhp mid-engined V10 engine under 5.0-liters with optimal weight distribution, with a rear-mounted transaxle and rear-mounted radiators and boasted a over 200mph top speed.
